New design and solar cells on our new trailers!

Our brand new trailers have been given a new design in the form of slogan and environmental label. In addition, solar cells are installed on the new refrigerated trailers.

On the new trailers you will find the slogan ”Your challenge is our goal”. The slogan reflects how we work as a company with our customers and tells something important about our DNA, which precisely is to solve all kinds of tasks in the best possible way, focusing on optimization.

We exist to bring value into our customers' lives and always strive to exceed their expectations. This in done by looking holistically on all tasks where we face all perspectives of the situation and find the complete optimal solution. 

Our goal is not met until we have found the best solutions to our customers challenges.

The new design, including the environmental label on our trailers, gives people on the road an impression of what we as company are working for and who we are.

Rail freight is a sustainable and climate-friendly transport solution which reduces CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. A shift from air- or road transport to rail freight can be very beneficial for the society and the environment. With our environmental friendly rail transport, we offer solutions that reduce CO2 emissions with up to 80% compared to conventional road transport.

The new solar cells on our refrigerated trailers, which are used for both rail and road transport, now also create some environmental benefits within road transport.

 "There is generally greater and greater focus on the environment and global warming. The transport industry is one of the sinners of global warming. Everything we eat, use, wear etc., has been transported at some point, regardless of whether it is national or international. We as a transport company wish to help secure the planet for our future generation", says Henrik Nielsen, Director at J. Lauritzen's Eftf. 

"We continuously try to offer customers solutions that are more sustainable compared to existing ones, which are usually by truck. These solutions can, in addition to rail transport, also be shortsea, where the goods are sailed in a container from, for example, Spain to Scandinavia instead of being transported by truck. It takes a bit longer, but it is more environmentally friendly and often cheaper too".

"Apart from thinking in sustainable solutions and especially rail freight, we want for our hauliers to have trucks with the highest euro standard and to drive in the way that uses the least possible diesel oil," Henrik Nielsen concludes.

The purpose of the solar cells

With the solar cells on our refrigerated  trailers we avoid unnecessary driving in order to charge the diesel driven batteries to the refrigerators, and we hereby also save diesel. In addition, we avoid replacing the batteries on the refrigerators, which are quickly worn out by constant use. The batteries are worn when they are repeatedly discharged, which happens if they do not drive often. With the solar cells the batteries are charged continually. 

Besides having some clear environmental benefits, the trails with solar cells will also benefit our customers. The solar cells ensure that the GPS's in the trailers never run out of power. This means that trailer and related goods can always be tracked without risk of disconnection. For the companies that conduct environmental policy and environmental accounts, the solar cells will also benefit their reporting.
