Increase of German road tax
The German government has announced changes to road tax (Maut) in 2018 and 2019. This will include all state-owned main and highways.
July 1, 2018, the road tax increases from 15,000 km to 40,000 km.
In January 2019 the current rate will be adjusted.
The changes will increase the cost of all transport in Germany as well as transit routes through Germany, but will not affect rail freight between Italy and Scandinavia.
We do not yet know the costs related to this, but as soon as concrete information and calculations are established, further information will be provided.
